This commercial HVAC calculator estimates the cooling load for office spaces based on floor area, occupancy, glass exposure and equipment heat load.
The calculator considers multiple heat sources in office buildings:
Area Load = Area × 60 BTU
People Load = Employees × 600 BTU
Glass Load = Glass Area × 150 BTU
Equipment Load = Computers × 400 BTU
Total Cooling Load = Sum of all loads
Required TR = Total BTU ÷ 12,000
Office Area = 2000 sq.ft
Employees = 20
Glass Area = 200 sq.ft
Computers = 20
Estimated Cooling Load ≈ 16–20 TR depending on heat gain.
This helps HVAC engineers estimate VRF or ductable system capacity for commercial offices.

Request Site SurveyOffice AC load is calculated based on area, occupancy, glass exposure and equipment heat load.
Typically 18–22 TR is required depending on occupancy and glass area.
VRF systems are ideal for medium to large office spaces due to energy efficiency.
1 Ton of Refrigeration (TR) equals 12,000 BTU per hour.
